Brighton murder suspect due back in court today

A man charged with stabbing his wife to death in Brighton at the weekend is due back in court today (Thursday 21 February).

Ty Medland, 25, of Cavell Avenue, Peacehaven, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 20 February) charged murdering Sam Medland, 24, in Queen Square, Brighton.

She was attacked outside the offices of Domestic and General at about 8.45pm on Sunday (17 February).

She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton but died shortly afterwards.

Post-mortem tests found that she died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Medland was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court today.
