Simon Munnery – Fylm Makker

A critic once said of Simon Munnery that he was ‘the closest comedy comes to art’. With Fylm Makker he is now the closest comedy comes to Art Attack. In a good way. Sat in the front row of the audience with a jerry rig array of cameras, microphones and a loop pedal; Munnery projected onto a screen an explosion of off beat songs, sketches and monologues. Deconstructing the ‘closest comedy comes to art’ critique was one highlight in a show that was brimming with ideas conveyed mainly by live cardboard animation but with real precision under a shambolic exterior.
