Bond girls
Massive congratulations to our favourite Sussex resident Adele, who took the Academy Awards by storm last weekend, winning the Oscar for best original song for ‘Skyfall’ and clinching the Bond franchise’s first Oscar in 47 years. In an emotional acceptance speech, Adele choked back tears to thank ‘her man’, husband Simon Konecki, who had accompanied her to the awards. When asked how she would celebrate her win, Adele added: “I think I’m going to the Vanity Fair party, so that’ll be quite nice. But I’ve got to get up at 6am so one glass of champagne and I’m gone these days.” The stunning new mum had earlier wowed the crowd in the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with her first ever live performance of the Bond theme. Dame Shirley Bassey added to the Bond extravaganza with a stellar performance of her own Bond theme song, Goldfinger’, receiving a standing ovation. Pure class.

Brighton hair stylists at London Fashion Week
It’s been a fash-tastic week for the award-winning team at Trevor Sorbie Brighton, as last week two of the salon’s hottest stars, Anna Chapman and Fergal Doyle, assisted L’Oréal Professionnel’s top session stylist Anthony Turner at London Fashion Week. Anna prepped the models for the amazing Topshop Unique and Preen shows; while Fergal worked on models for the fabulous Peter Pilotto runway. All eyes were on the Topshop Unique front row, which was one of the most star-studded of LFW; boasting One Direction’s Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and representing the good old US of A, fashionista Olivia Palermo and Superman Returns actress Kate Bosworth. Hitting the catwalk for both the Peter Pilotto and Topshop Unique was model of the moment (and star of this month’s British Vogue cover) Cara Delevingne, pictured here backstage being worked on by the wonderful Fergal; who tells us she was the ultimate professional; having dozens of paparazzi taking photos while a team of six did her hair, make-up, nails, and dressing. Gorgeous.
