Joe Brown

Wow, what a gig!!! Was it the diversity of music styles (rock-a-billy/ bluegrass/ skiffle/ r’n’r)? Possibly. Was it the delightful on-stage bonhomie? Maybe. Was it the dexterity and sheer breadth of musical ability? It’s a factor. Of course, it’s all of the these plus pure class. From Italian wedding waltzs, traditional Russian folk, the best Motorhead cover outside of Lemmy, plus all of his old hits – Joe Brown proved he’s a bit special. With exemplorary mandolin and ukulele playing (almost forgetting he plays a mean axe too), Brown (and his brilliant band) has evolved gracefully into a supreme performer. Breathtaking and awe-inspiring, a national treasure.
