The Stranglers

Supported by an extremely solid set from The Godfathers, The Stranglers returned to Brighton to a capacity crowd, which was a homecoming gig for Brightonian keyboardist Dave Greenfield. While keeping the fans happy with all the expected hits like ‘Golden Brown’, ‘Peaches<', 'Always the Sun' and 'Skin Deep', the band played longer melodic numbers that veered off into prog rock meanderings, whilst never being dull or boring. Despite two encores, featuring 'No More Heroes' and others, they still managed to leave a few classics out of the evening's set — always leave them wanting more.
