STAGE: The devil keeps tugging

On 31st March last year, after 16 years in office, The Unofficial Mayor of Brighton donned his chains in front of a packed Dome Concert Hall for the last ever Brighton – The Musical. The man then stood on the seashore and waited.

The songs began to drift in with the winds and the tides. Terry Garoghan now returns to Brighton’s The Old Market with something new and something different – The Devil Keeps Tugging – a musical cabaret about his on/off relationship with The Devil, and his general confusion with life in general.
There will much of the Terry so well know to Brighton audiences… the new songs of course, the personal stories, the outright lies, and all the usual flirtatious banter.

The show will also mark the launch of an album – The Aunty Flo Slide Show – all music and lyrics written by Terry, all displaying his usual trademark humour. He will be accompanied by the amazing cello of Miss Angie Wilson. Angie is an established and highly respected classical cellist, who is very much at home performing with The English Chamber Orchestra at The Royal Festival Hall. What, if anything, does an ex-unofficial mayor have left to offer? Is there life after Hove? How do you get two ice-cream cones to stay stuck to your head?
