Jack Dee

Dee, dwarfed by the Dome stage, looked tired from the start. Suited and booted as always, the curmudgeonly persona now seems realer than ever, he has grown into the part for sure. Oddly though the older Dee has taken on a cosy complacency, the anger now more subdued and with an added air of resignation. Teenage kids and the burdens of middle age maybe to blame but his observations seemed way to familiar. Totally likeable, Dee somehow lacked some of his edge, only occasionally baring those sharp teeth. Enjoyable on one level but in the end the evening fell short and I left amused – but only mildly.
