Mari Wilson – The Beehive And Me

With her beehive now a bob, the Neasden songstress performed an expertly chosen set, informed by the great singers and songwriters of the 1960s. The cabaret setting suited the intimate arrangements for piano and guitar and Mari proved to be a fine ad-libber when dealing with an initially restless audience. We were treated to the Bond song that never was and selections from her self-penned musical, alongside imaginative reinterpretations of less-obvious selections from The Pretenders to The Beach Boys. A composite of Dusty, Sandie, Petula et al but with her own unique voice, and many great stories to share.
