Cancer Bats
It’s Friday night and Cancer Bats are playing The Haunt. That can only mean one thing: Complete and utter carnage. For those that don’t know about this Canadian whirlwind of a band, it’s pretty much a case of ‘go hard or go home’. It doesn’t take much to get the crowd riled, as soon at frontman Liam Cormier stepped on stage a pit opened up and limbs were flailing everywhere. Fan favourite Hail Destroyer is a sure fire way to get an over exuberant crowd downright dangerous, just how this band like it. Despite the sweat and chaos there was a strong sense of camaraderie here, those that fell down were helped back up and some were even hauled on stage out of harm’s way by the band. There is no question as to why The Haunt was sold out; this is a rock show at its best.
