Brighton’s Church of Christ the King is hosting a Good Friday charity concert tonight in aid of Blind Veterans UK.

The Sounds Like Brighton concert features Brighton bands House of Hats and Fickle Friends, singer-songwriter Charley Bickers and the New England Arts Orchestra.

Blind Veterans UK is the new name of St Dunstan’s, a national charity that has been supports blind ex-servicemen and women.

The charity has its oldest rehabilitation centre in Ovingdean, Brighton.

This is the third major charity fundraiser event held by Church of Christ the King.

Last Easter the church raised £5,000 for the Martlets Hospice at a Good Friday event and in 2010 it held a concert to raise funds for emergency relief in Haiti.

Tickets for tonight’s concert at the 700-seater Clarendon Centre in New England Street have already sold out.
