The Watery Journey of Nereus Pike

Laura Mugridge and Tom Adams delighted with their charming tale of love, loss and a lighthouse.

Telling the story of Nereus Pike, an elderly lighthouse keeper who lives with his wife Mariana. One day Nereus slips in to the sea, floating until he reaches the bottom of the ocean – his desire to return home to Mariana deafening. Meanwhile, his sweetheart is floating skywards like a hot air balloon.

It soon becomes a story of attachment, death and letting go – never bordering on sentimentality.

Bath bomb sound effects and chalk drawn projections added layers to this marvellous evening of storytelling.
