Couple charged with defrauding 100-year-old uncle from Brighton
A couple have been charged with defrauding their 100-year-old uncle from Brighton of £26,000.
The self-employed pair Janice Olaff, 65, and her husband Leslie Olaff, 70, from Stanmore, London, are accused of writing cheques and using debit cards fraudulently for a period of six years.
Janice Olaff is the victim’s niece. She had power of attorney which gave her control over her uncle’s financial affairs.
She faces nine counts of abusing a position of trust.
Her husband has been charged with four offences of fraud.
The pair have been bailed by Sussex Police and are due to appear before Brighton magistrates on Thursday 2 May.
