Shazia Mirza – Cuckooland!

Looks can be deceptive sometimes. For Mirza isn’t your humdrum made for TV female comedian, Mirza has A POTTY MOUTH!!!!!! She was proper filthy at times, I’m not sure Worthing could have taken much more. Luckily she had another gig elsewhere in town which, although enterprising, probably hit her audience numbers somewhat. However the crudeness was apt, well used, pertinent even to the subjects at hand (travel/marriage/racism). Being of Pakistani descent in an ostensibly white skin environment provides a rich vein for material. There was more to her than this though. And performing in darkness for 10 mins was an interesting and liberating experience.
