Latest 7 has two pairs of VIP tickets (worth £38 each) for The Foodies Festival at Hove Lawns, 4–6 May. Watch top chefs, including TV’s Genarro Contaldo of Two Greedy Italians; Michelin-starred Matt Gillan who recently appeared on the BBC’s Great British Menu; Michelin-starred Stephen Crane of Ockenden Manor; Jake Northcote Green from Yum Yum Ninja, and Michael Bremner of Food For Friends, cook their signature dishes live in the Chefs’ Theatre and explain how amateur cooks can prepare the same dishes at home.

“I am so excited about being at Foodies this year and about getting to meet all the wonderful people who visit the festivals,” says Genarro Contaldo. “The atmosphere is always fantastic and it’s brilliant to be able to celebrate all the incredible restaurants and amazing chefs we have in the UK.”

Sweet-toothed foodies will enjoy the Cake and Bake Theatre incorporating a ‘bake-along’ with members of the audience invited to participate, as well as the dedicated Chocolate Theatre and BBQ Arena both featuring classes and demonstrations.

The Children’s Cookery Theatre, run by Cookery Doodle Doo, offers animal-themed classes throughout the weekend making treats like panda cupcakes and bee muffins.

The extensive Producers’ Market sells a vast array of artisan produce including Guild of Fine Food award-winning British produce, and on Street Food Avenue visitors will find a huge selection of ready-to-eat hot and cold food from around the globe.

The Drinks Theatre hosts classes and demonstrations from experts including TV’s Charles Metcalfe and beer blacksmith Melissa Cole. This year there will also be a Cocktail Theatre where top mixologists will demonstrate their skills with hands-on classes.

The Wine Village brings together producers and wine regions from across the world including Chapel Down English wine and French wine regions Vins de Provence and Beaujolais. Whilst Homeware Village offers visitors the chance to shop for kitchenware and gadgets.

This year’s new dining and VIP area includes pop-up versions of Dermot O’Leary’s restaurant Fishy Fishy and Jamie’s Italian Brighton whilst the countryside-themed bar area focuses on British cider and ale. A converted open-topped double-decker bar bus is a fun addition to the tent and pagoda bars on offer throughout the site.

Relaxation in 2013 comes in the form of a City Beach where families can chill out on deckchairs with an artisan ice-cream or an afternoon tea whilst children build sandcastles. Various specialist tea, coffee and fresh juice vendors can be found around the site.

The entertainment stage features live music acts including Gloria Miller performing every day until the later closing time this year of 8pm.

VIP tickets include a free glass of champagne on arrival, access to the VIP tent throughout the day, a taster meal from one of the pop-up restaurant tents, a goody bag and reserved seating in theatre and masterclass sessions.
