Pink Martini

Formed in 1994 in Portland Oregon by Thomas Laurderdale, this 10-piece band fuses Cuban classical Latin jazz all mixed up in a poptastic bundle. Everything played to perfection and somewhat reminiscent of the 1920’s. With a stunning voice from China, Forbes flowing round the Dome, with ‘Hey Eugene’, ‘Sympathetque’, ‘Hang On Little Tomato’ and ‘Lily’. All wondrous masterpieces. A classic version of Cameo’s ‘Word Up’ sung by the manager left the audience in pieces. Dancing in the aisles to the Cuban spirit when out comes very special guest Rufus Wainwright – what a treat. Voice of a spooky angel. The whole place was alive by the end, the stage was full. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Pink Martini!
