Dr Michael Scott – Delphi: ‘Bellybutton Of The Ancient World’

It’s true to say you would probably have got more out of this lecture if you had either seen the accompanying BBC4 documentary and/or had an interest in Ancient/Classic Greece. That said even the casual bystander could not but be impressed by Dr Scott’s passion for his subject, his equally matched knowledge and his engaging delivery which sparked your imagination and intrigue in equal measure. Delphi’s sometimes complex and chaotic life may be obvious but Dr Scott provided the minutia, the tiniest details, of Delphi that really brought it to life. A must for students and lovers of history of any kind.
