Events: Brighton Fringe & Festival

Don’t miss events and treats to make May extra special, thanks to the creative minds of the Fringe and Festival

Every year, Brighton is proud to host the largest arts festival in England, showcasing some amazing talent both from the home of our cultural city and away. We highlight some of the forthcoming alternative events you would be foolish to miss out on.

Seek out some of the best work emerging out of the film industry at the moment, with many carefully selected screenings of short films and cinematic experiences being shown at various locations throughout the city. Boutique Cinema and Fringe Film are set to provide visual excitement with an eclectic mix of short films whilst One Way Theatre goes one step further with their solar powered cinema screen.

Literature is at the foundation of the arts so make sure you drink in as much as you can handle, especially at the Hendricks Carnival of Knowledge. Join many speakers for various nights of enlightenment from alchemy and dreams to pranks and mischief. If you can tear yourself away from the delightful gin cocktails, ‘The Stories of Shakey P’ blends classic playwriting with hip-hop while ‘Come Rhyme With Me’ promises an appetising poetry evening.

Eager to explore the rich history of our mysterious Sussex city? Take a guided tour of some of the renowned areas of Brighton, including the award-winning Victorian sewers. Looking for something more eccentric? The Extraordinary Mystical Heritage Tour will expose you to the city’s unique and strange history. Glutton for horror?
