Table Manners
Table Manners is a very experimental interactive theatrical experience dedicated to what’s behind etiquette at the dinner table.
Whilst this was a very well constructed piece, sadly it was not to everyone’s taste which resulted in a few walk outs and unexpected heckles. It was the first piece of the event that was the worst part. The comedy was flat and felt forced – especially on the interactive aspect of the audience, making a lot of them obviously uncomfortable. But it was a good idea of a buffet and wine-tasting with a difference nonetheless.
It was however the two experimental theatre pieces that turned things around as we went from space to space – from the nightmare dinner party no one can leave, to a repetitive sequence of dialogue and rather strange happenings at a dinner party indicating what the diners’ mind sets can be like when bored or agitated. Both pieces were shocking and engaging albeit experimental and again not to everyone’s taste.
This is a piece that needs work, but worthwhile seeing for the journey in itself.
