Brighton’s Extraordinary Mystical Heritage Tour

From Brighton’s Masonic lodge to THAT alleyway from Quadrophenia, this walk highlighted the weird and wonderful of Brighton that many of us walk past every day but never take in. For residents and visitors to the city, our guide Lee took us to famous and lesser known landmarks including the Royal Pavilion and a model cat perched on the side of a building (clue: Old Steine), providing insight and food for thought. More questions may have been raised than answered, but isn’t that the case with all things mystical? Most interesting were Brighton’s links to Stone Henge, the Freemasons and an old underground river few know about. Despite the wind and rain, Lee projected well, keeping us entertained. It would be good to see a few more talking points added to the tour. If you’re around Brighton during the Fringe and are looking for something to do, book yourself on the tour – especially if it’s a glorious day!
