Flathampton for Adults

A play date for grown ups, Flathampton had been a ‘town’ for kids all day and now it was the grown ups’ turn. Once we’d taken that leap past awkward inhibitions, the curse of adults that hardly ever afflicts children, the joy of interactively building up Flathampton to its 3D splendour as well as playing shop with Flathampton pounds and taking on Flathampton jobs brought back all the fun of a toy cash register and the glee of a stamp and ink pad. Throw in the rather more grown up element of cocktails at the tea shop and a dressing up box and this show could have been written with Brighton in mind. The townspeople were charming and in character throughout and the loose story of a prodigal shopkeeper endearing. Hurrah for Flathampton! And long may it remind us of what pure fun really can be.
