MKS, Alison Moyet, Stooshe & more join the line-up for Pride 2013; footballers’ wives make waves & Fatboy Slim meets Ron English in NYC
Girl power!
The Brighton Pride 2013 line-up has been announced, and it’s hosting a big dose of Girl Power this year. Following in the footsteps of locals Fatboy Slim and the Freemasons, this year’s famous resident act is singing superstar Alison Moyet – who just recently moved to the area. Paloma Faith and Mutya, Keisha and Siobahn (AKA MKS – AKA The Sugababes’ original line-up) are also confirmed to play at the Preston Park event on Saturday 3 august. Faith will be playing a DJ set whilst MKS will perform new material written by 2012 pop darling Emeli Sandé. Pride’s programming director Dulcie Danger said: “I’m delighted to be able to announce Paloma’s appearance this early in the planning stages, she will be doing a DJ appearance unlike anything you’ve seen before. MKS will be performing some new material as well as some of The Sugababes’ biggest hits live on our fabulous main stage.” Girl group Stooshe, urban super-star Ms Dynamite and X Factor TV talent show star Lucy Spraggan have also confirmed that they will be rocking the park on the day.
We look forward to later announcements!

Footballers’ wives
It’s good news all round for Brighton and Hove Albion WAG and The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, who has now announced she is expecting a baby, after getting engaged to footballer Wayne Bridge, and seeing the soccer-aces team make it through to the play-offs.
As has been the way for the Sandford/Bridge romance, Frankie dropped the baby-bomb via social media site Twitter (although hopefully told Bridge first). She wrote: “Some big news from me today! Wayne and I are having a baby. We are both SO happy and can’t wait for his or hers arrival!”
We’re awarding The Saturdays the most pro-creative pop group award 2013, with bandmate Rochelle Humes due to have her first child with JLS member Marvin Humes soon, and Una Healy already a mother to one-year-old Aoife.
From one pregnant WAG to another, Danielle O’Hara had an unpleasant trip to Brighton recently – when Wolverhampton fans vented their disappointment at the Big Brother star’s footballer husband. Following their defeat at the hands of the mighty Seagulls, the Wanderers’ fans turned a bit nasty – and it seemed that poor old Danielle got the brunt of their anger. After the match a mob of fans hurled abuse at O’Hara as the team bus left Brighton’s Amex Stadium, voicing complaints at footballer Jamie for his disappointing play. Danielle then hit back on Twitter, which only caused a further storm of abuse. She asked: “Why am I getting abuse from Wolves fans I don’t know? Is it me that wears the shirt?” before going on to defend her footballer hubby: “My husband gives 100 per cent every time he plays but sadly some fans feel the need to abuse players!”
She seemed to cheer up though for Bank Holiday Monday, throwing a baby shower for her nearly due sprog. Former TOWIE star Lydia Bright and TV presenter Alison Hammond joined in the fun and O’Hara tweeted: “Having the best baby shower ever!!! So much fun smiles laughter cocktails, love all my friends thank u for all coming Xxx”.
We’re glad she got over the war of words, but we can’t help but feel the best team won on the day.
Fatboy Slim’s Street style
Here’s a small pic of Fatboy Slim and American street artist Ron English at our recent New York art event. It was a meeting of two superfans and we couldn’t help but share it with you!
Spotted!
