Brighton man charged with helping armed robber

A Brighton man has been charged with helping an armed robber.

Gerard Shelbourne, 52, unemployed, of Chiddingly Close in Whitehawk, was arrested by police on Tuesday (14 May).

He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday 16 May).

Sussex Police said that he had been charged with encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence, namely armed robbery.

He was charged under the Serious Crime Act 2007.
