What Makes A Book Worth Publishing?

The publishing industry has never been in such a state of flux. The advent of e-publishing, electronic readers, etc, have made the marketing and distribution of books much more accessible for authors. The discussion, sponsored by local publisher Myriad Editions, attempted to define those elements which a manuscript needs to attract the attention of both literary agents and publishers, using examples from successful submissions to the 2013 Writer’s Retreat Competition. A fascinating and helpful insight into the rather arcane world of publishing. The hour flew by, and those writers in the audience would have left with a much clearer idea of how to approach both publishers and agents with their work.
