Medics treat Brighton man after kitchen fire
A Brighton man needed oxygen treatment after breathing in smoke while trying to put out a kitchen fire in his home.
Fire crews were hindered as they tried to reach the fire by a badly parked car blocking the street in Tavistock Down, Hollingdean.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that it sent two crews from Preston Circus in Brighton and one from Hove just after 7.45pm on Friday (17 May).
Firefighters in breathing apparatus went into the first floor flat where they found a man in his forties who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
He was given oxygen and treated at the scene by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
