Mike Mendoza New Chairman of Adur Council 
On May 16th Cllr Mike Mendoza became the Chairman of Adur District  Council. Mike has had a very successful career in both radio and television, presenting his own shows he became the number one presenter in the UK on National Radio, he also had a Tv series on SKY. 

Mike has been a Councillor since the 80’s, for Hove Council and moving to Adur in 2000. He and his wife Jennifer are supporters of the Chestnut Tree Charity which is Mike’s chosen charity for the year, he will also be supporting other local charities at one off events.

New Falafel bar, FilFil
FilFil is a brand new, Middle Eastern falafel bar on Gardner Street, in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine. The café’s signature dish is homemade, cooked-to-order, hot vegetarian falafel.
Amal and Tim Cashin, FilFil’s owners, hosted the opening party on Wednesday evening, 24 April.

The Grand Spa launch

The Grand hotel celebrated the official launch its brand new state-of-the-art Brighton Spa on May 15th. The Champagne and GB1 canapés reception included an exclusive Q&A session with Espa Founder Susan Harmsworth MBE.

The Grand Spa offers a tranquil  and luxurious retreat for the guests. Starting with relaxation in the thermal suite with saunas, steam rooms, rejuvenating treatment in one of the nine rooms- options include a detoxifying crystal steam room and aromatherapy sauna. There is also a Nail Bar, all the latest therapies and a Spa Cafe. 

The new Spa is part of The Grand’s completion of a £ 5 million make over which will also include modernising its existing fitness facilities.

Corporate Thank You
Brighton Festival’s annual Corporate Thank You event took place on Thursday 9 May at the Brighton Dome. Supporters joined for a drinks reception in the Founder’s Room before moving onto the University of Brighton Gallery to see Felix’s Machines. Felix’s machines are de-constructed from real-life objects to create new experiences with movement, music and light.
