Vesta!

Billed as a darkly comic celebration of humanity inspired by Fellini films, the six-member female troupe worked hard but the end result was rather baffling. While no expert on Italian cinema, I’m pretty certain that scenes of armpit licking and a naked woman gorging on whipped cream don’t feature in La Dolce Vita. Most of the set pieces featured a dominating matriarch and various depictions of animal and human humiliation that left the audience dumbfounded.

The performers displayed musical talent on the random showtunes and were bold in the more demanding moments but the show’s potential needed a clearer narrative.
