Snap Shots: This week: Peter James

“Dead Man’s Time is the 9th book in the Roy Grace series. I’ve long wanted to write about the antiques trade in Brighton – which in many ways has been so central to the city for very many years – and which has also played such an important role in Brighton’s colourful criminal history.”

Leading crime fiction author, Peter James, launches his new book, Dead Man’s Time, on 6 June at The Amex Stadium. For this book Peter did a lot of research into the lively Brighton antiques trade, both current and historic. The story starts with a robbery at a Brighton mansion, leaving its elderly occupant dying and millions taken in valuables. But, as Detective Roy Grace quickly learns, there is one item of priceless sentimental value that the victim’s powerful family care so much about they are fully prepared to take the law into their own hands and do anything to get it back. Already sounds like a real page-turner!
