KRS-One
The old school MC took it upon himself to show us what “real hip hop” is like, and it turns out that means great beats, raw talent, a perfect blending of technical skill and showmanship, creative acronyms for pretty ladies in the crowd (“love and develop yourself”) and much more. There was a fantastic street-party atmosphere, culminating in a fierce rendition of ‘South Bronx’ whilst storming through the audience and some impressive freestyling from both KRS and the support acts, giving the gig a wonderful unique quality. As long as KRS-One is touring, real hip hop is here to stay.
