Liars

Plodding, fuzzy, rhythmic three-piece band Liars played a lot of new material, a gutsy move in-keeping with their serious approach to their music, and the keyboards and synth textures sounded great live. The hypnotic repetitive nature of the songs appealed to this reviewer as an interesting style and aesthetic, but I could sense the crowd itching for some of the earlier brasher guitar-based material however, which might have lifted proceedings up a notch. Liars took the audience on an enthralling, difficult and memorable journey though. Well worth checking out next time they’re in town if you fancy something experimental and different.
