Eve Lom MBE in town, Frankie fakes it, plus Alexa Chung, Matt Richardson & Matthew MacFadyen

Beauty royalty visited The Treatment Rooms on Thursday 30 May as Eve Lom MBE, founder of the Eve Lom skincare range and the legendary facial, gave one to one skin consultations. Clients clamoured for one of the limited appointments with the skin care founder. Consultations cost £20 but guests could redeem this against Eve Lom products in the salon. Glowing skin – celeb style – from a renowned figure who’s become a celeb in her own right – what’s not to love. We’re stocking up today!

Kate Wilson from Trevor Sorbie Brighton judged the L’Oreal Young Colourist Award and was there on the night on the catwalk along side other key industry names Richard Ward, Joanne Hansford and Andrew Barton to name a few.

Alexa Chung was there to present awards to the winners following her shoot for L’Oreal Professional for hair colorant INOA (now available at Trevor Sorbie Brighton) and presented awards to the winners. Trevor Sorbie put on a
grand show that lasted a full ten minutes.

Double act
Pride And Prejudice star Matthew MacFadyen will be treading the boards at the Theatre Royal Brighton as he and comedian Stephen Mangan appear as P.G. Wodehouse’s creation Jeeves And Wooster. The new show, which runs here before hitting the West End, marks almost 100 years since the comedy-duo first appeared in print. Based on the 1938 book The Code Of The Woosters, the play sees MacFadyen step into the shoes of literature’s most famous butler, whilst Mangan plays the “mentally negligible” Wooster. Talking about the up-coming show he commented: “It was one of those things I’d always meant to do. As everyone says, he’s the finest comedy writer the English language has ever produced.” Macfadyen added: “This play from Bobby and David Goodale is an absolute hoot – a wonderfully crafted and joyful bit of perfect nonsense. I am delighted to be a part of it.” For more information check Theatre Royal Brighton’s website.

Matt Richardson goes for Xtra
We’re proud to be pushing the boundaries of comedy down here in Brighton, but a gig conducted down here last year is bound to make new Xtra Factor presenter Matt Richardson cringe. After cracking jokes at a local gig about Caroline Flack’s taste in men – particularly the young One Direction star Harry Styles – Richardson has now found himself appointed Flack’s co-star on the ITV2 talent show! It doesn’t look like the two are going to be set for romance any time soon then, but it might just add a much needed bit of fun to our TV screens. Let’s hope Matt gets stuck in to Caroline straight away!
