Charity Chuckle 4th Birthday

There was a feeling of celebration and camaraderie at last night’s fundraiser for local charity Safety Net. A cracking line-up of bon viveur comics, from Phil Jerrod’s captivating roaming into the audience mirroring his rural adventures, to Michael Mooney’s random roly poly as he remembered a lost punchline and tickled every surprise-funny bone. With engaging and charming sets from both of the organisers, Kerry Herbert and Jim Holland, a tight skew on the world from Chris Pacey, all beautifully MC’d with a smile and a chuckle by Julie Jepson, topped by Carl Donnelly, with his delightful and hilarious escapades with emus and the mythical creatures that are kangaroos, bringing the evening to a happy and contently exhausted conclusion. A fitting celebration to four years of good work with laughter.
