Steve Winwood
Arriving exhausted and not in the best frame of mind, Steve Winwood was going to have to work hard to lighten my mood, which is exactly what he did. A blistering and brilliant concert of ‘mixed vintage’ material, as Steve himself described it, played by a group of musicians at the very top of their game. Winwood ably demonstrated that he’s lost none of his virtuosic skills as a keyboard player and guitarist. The arrangements, featuring funk, jazz, rock and a little latin, were spot on, each player being given ample opportunity to shine. The eye-wateringly fantastic (yes, really!) drum solo was worth turning up for on its own.

I agree – it was a fantasic night. Enjoyed all of it. The opening song Rainmaker really set the mood for the night. Wonderful. Thanks Steve and the Band,
