The Moody Blues
Whistling me back to being a teenager, The Moody Blues delivered a concert that was polished without losing any of their original energy. The set list comprised a wide range of numbers from their vast catalogue but was not short on the classic hits that established them as one of the UK’s top bands. Lavish arrangements, orchestral sounds and unusual beats set them aside from other hit makers and they were certainly never a dance band more of a thinking or, dare I say it, Snogging band. What made the evening was their ability to recreate that distinctive sound so many years on. Just Hayward’s voice is as good as ever as is his guitar playing and the more than able new band members played the songs as we wanted to hear them, especially ‘Nights In White Satin’ and ‘Question’, with note perfect solos. A great night out tripping down memory lane.
