Stage: The Trouble With Old Lovers
Our favourite Emmerdale baddie comes to Eastbourne
Casting for the charming comedy The Trouble With Old Lovers, which comes to the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne, from Tuesday 23–Saturday 27 July, has been announced. Peter Amory, who played the memorable baddie Chris Tate in Emmerdale, stars along with Nicola Bryant (Doctor Who), West End star Shona Lindsay, new face Joanna Waters, and Simon Linnell who returns to the Devonshire Park Theatre following his appearance in The Hollow, Murder On Air and Witness For The Prosecution.
Angela Huth’s comedy of seduction, misspent passion and marital strife follows four old flames, Edward Laura, Tom and Alice, who find themselves re-united for the first time in 20 years with surprising consequences. Will Edward and Laura find a way to put the past behind them and will Tom and Alice’s seemingly-secure marriage survive the seductive onslaught of Mary – on old flame intent on second helpings?
The Trouble With Old Lovers is a bittersweet comedy which proves that even faded roses have sharp thorns!
