The Music Tapes

Imagine a member of Neutral Milk Hotel creating lo-fi music using a singing saw, a mournful horn section and a banjo played with a bow and you get The Music Tapes, a truly unique band that deserve a far wider audience. Julian Koster has a fantastic striking voice and a warm stage presence, telling stories and using innovative props (such as a singing television) to create a fun festival/circus sort of atmosphere. What really shines through though is a sincere love for music and performing, an unaffected joy in sharing a beautiful experience with an open-minded crowd that was exceptionally moving. Unforgettable.
