The Ride Of Hope 3
Take part in The Ride Of Hope 3 this August, raising money for Cancer Research UK
The Ride of Hope 3 is a 12-hour indoor fitness marathon using indoor bikes, Krankcycles® and rowing machines to raise £25,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The event takes place in Brighton on Saturday 10 August 2013. On this day at The Brighton Centre, is a fully inclusive fitness event that has never been held in Brighton before. People with disabilities can train alongside able-bodied people on 25 Concept II rowing machines, 125 indoor bikes & 25 Krankcycles® to raise at least £25,000 for Cancer Research UK.
This event will be in the form of 12 individual 50 minute “rides” led by fitness professionals. Each ride will have an eclectic mix of music to inspire and motivate the participants and they will also have a wall of video footage to assist them too. Participants will be able to ride
for as little or as much as they want to, from 1 ride to all 12 – many people will be riding the full 12 hours for many different reasons. It is anticipated that around 1,000 people will take part of this amazing event.
Ride of Hope 3 is open to anyone. A health questionnaire will need to be returned along with payment via their justgiving.com page to confirm booking.
The fees to take part are: –
1 ride – £20
2 rides – £30
3 rides – £45
4 rides – £50
5 rides – £65
6 rides – £80
7 rides – £95

9 rides – £115
10 rides – £130

This event is the third chapter for “The Ride of Hope”. The first was in 2011 where 25 people rode (collectively) 15 Spinner® bikes during a four hour event at The Metabolic Solution’s indoor training studio in Portslade and raised £6,500 for Cancer Research UK. Then in 2012, the event was extended to 6 hours and 60 people used 27 Spinner® bikes and 2 Krankcycles® to raise £11,500. The largest donation was by the Red Bull Formula 1 team who donated a tour for four people around their factory; this was auctioned off at Ronan Keating’s Emerald & Ivy Ball in London in December for £3,500.
The Brighton Centre has kindly offered their facility as the host for 2013
completely free of charge. Matrix UK are supplying the equipment for the event.
Cancer Research UK supports around 200 cancer trials all over the UK which means people in Brighton will benefit from new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in future.
