Boeing Boeing
A simple formula: one man juggling three air hostess fiancees. Set in Bernard’s Paris apartment in the 1960s, this had a fantastic easy set-up, like the apartment in the sitcom Friends. Philip Stewart provided excellent comedy as Bernard’s old friend Robert, who stumbles across the polygamy setup and ends up more stressed than Bernard. It took a while to warm up, which was a shame, as by the interval we were rooting for the male leads in keeping their secret. From the audience there was squeals of exclamation and laughter. Zoie Kennedy as German Gretchen had boundless energy and a great rapport with Stewart’s Robert. Anita Graham as housekeeper Bertha was spot on with her dry wit. It was just a shame that as soon as it got going, it was drawing to a close. Leave morals at the door and enjoy this fun romp.
