Pudding Night

Yes, you’ve guessed it, it was a night of puddings. Six to be exact, based around the central theme of ‘The 4th Of July – American Independence Day’. The first serving of three individual puddings was high on the berry count; a fruity trifle (slightly something and nothing, tasty but not spectacular), a slice of cheesecake (very nice with a light crumbly base and side serving of mixed berries) and a Mississippi Mud Pie (yeah baby, I was all over this like a rash!). After a brief mouthwash of blackberry sorbet we were into part 2; a lovely fruity cobbler with a kick of cinnamon, a smooth zingy Key Lime Pie and a rich chocolate fudge concoction which was a chocoholic’s dream. All ably punctuated by a troupe of singers/musicians providing traditional tunes of old Americana, suitable and poignant. This is a new night and its a fine idea. A few tweeks here and there and it’ll be great night out. And very reasonably priced too.
