The Grimethorpe Colliery Band

Besides the fact that they, each and every one of them, are great musicians. Besides the fact that their music has the ability to lift you moments after periods of delightful melancholy just by the flurry of bugle. The Grimethorpe Colliery Band are an important message from our most recent past. That honourable grounded men from the mines can rise from the ashes of a scarred and buried community, from an industry ripped apart by an uncaring government backed up by a greedy corporate might. They serve as a reminder workers are more than just a number on a ledger, they are humans – that make a wonderful bloody racket!!!
