Dr Lucy Worsley: If Walls Could Talk

This wasn’t a long talk/lecture and you had the feeling that the capacity audience wanted a little more, which may have been a deliberate ploy to sell the book (which accompanied the talk). Nevertheless the bubbly/evervescent Dr Worsley (chief curator of Historical Royal Palaces) guided the enraptured audience through a history of their own homes, in particular the evolutions of the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and lounge. And thoroughly interesting it was too, shining a light on who we (as a society and individuals) were, are and may become. History should not be taken for granted, it is to learn from as brilliantly exemplified by Dr Worsley. Better go and buy the book now!
