Marine Life: Brighton Marina’s Kirsty Pollard looks forward to Brighton’s Big Screen

We are delighted to be teaming up with Brighton’s Big Screen, planned right next door to us on the beach from 30 July–26 August 2013. The screen is located half a mile away from the Marina’s shops, huge selection of bars, restaurants & cafés, boutique Hotel Seattle, 26-lane bowling, eight-screen cinema, casino, health & fitness club and boat, dive & fishing trips. The Marina is the prefect start before – or after – your seafront screening.

The Big Screen was first presented by Murray Media in 2012, a huge 27sq m LED screen arrived on Brighton’s seafront last summer for the Olympics. The screen broadcast live coverage of the Games alongside a selection of blockbuster movies which thousands of residents and visitors enjoyed. This event was a first, not only for Brighton, but for the UK!

This year, the free outdoor beachfront cinema is back and it’s got a lot bigger, double the size in fact with 40 sq m. The screen will showcase some of the biggest recent box office hits including Les Misérables, Life Of Pi and Oblivion along with movie classics and top live sporting events with the onset of the Ashes and the World Athletics Championships. Special themed weekends and evenings, including an exclusive chance to meet the stars are in the pipeline, ideal for kids and adults alike.

It would be rude not to be neighbourly so we are getting in on this year’s action with on-screen competitions with Marina prizes up for grabs such as cinema and bowling tickets, meals for two, powerboat rides and loads of gift vouchers – everyone really will be a winner.
