Local Natives

The prospect of spending an evening in the oppressive oven-like conditions of the Concorde 2 during a heatwave is enough to strike fear into the heart of even the most hardened music fan – Fortunately, the quality of Local Natives set was more than enough to immediately offset any thoughts of personal discomfort. Sounding like the Fleet Foxes’ errant, cooler, more dangerous cousins, the multi-instrumentalists rattled their way though a pounding, uplifting set with aplomb, clearly enjoying themselves from start to finish. Mixing precision with an almighty energy and a sense of spontaneity is no mean feat, but they pulled it off in a slick, sweaty, blissful style.
