Film: The World’s End (15)
Dir: Edgar Wright
In the big, wonderful world of cinema, I think it’s safe to assume that it is rare for a trilogy to live up to the fans’ expectations. The three ‘Cornetto’ films, penned by Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright certainly fall into that elusive minority. The third instalment ‘The World’s End’, takes on a life of its own whilst simultaneously bringing together the earlier two genre pieces – zom-com ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and action comedy ‘Hot Fuzz’. Drawing influence from early sci-fi stories such as ‘Day Of The Triffids’ and ‘The Body Snatchers’, ‘The World’s End’ ties up this Pegg-Wright partnership perfectly with the usual stellar cast; particular emphasis on the mighty Nick Frost.
