Frances Ha (15)

Frances’ New York life is her best friend and dance. When her best friend moves out, she finds herself unsettled, unsure of the future and with nowhere to live. Directed by Noah Baumbach and co-written by Frances herself, actress Greta Gerwig, this tale manages to be delightful, funny, endearing and depressing all at the same time. Shot in black and white, Frances Ha feels artistic but simple, letting Gerwig’s captivating presence bowl you over. Her honest portrayal of the awkward 27 year old dance apprentice makes this film easily one of the must-sees this summer.
