Acoustic Proms

A brace of talented singer-songwriters provided a fabulous evening of solid and varied entertainment. Louis Checkley, Phil Wyatt, Kokopelli, and Rotait are all artists/bands deserving of your attention and support. Rotait’s guitar/cello combination made for some interesting musical interplay and Kokopelli’s Weissenborn lap steel, accompanied by Bo Lucas’s breathy, Hope Sandovalesque delivery, was a delight. Their left-field cover of Fleetwood Mac’s, ‘Never Going Back Again’ was, for me, the highlight of the evening. A few niggles: the lighting could have been better and some microphone problems interrupted the flow, but the show was easily the best six quid you could have spent last Friday night.
