Band Of Skulls

For a moment in time I was transported back to 1973 at the Roxy. Band of Skulls. Superb three-piece combo reaching into the depths of hellfire. Leaping through guitar licks like Hendrix on LSD. In front of an adorning crowd the combo unleashed songs from their two albums including ‘Sweet Sour’, ‘The Devil Takes Care Of His Own’ and the rocktabulous ‘You’re Not Pretty But You Got It Going On’. How on Earth this three-piece from Southampton were able to make so much noise is beyond me, but The Old Market was definitely transformed into the devil’s bedroom. Male to female back to male vocals with a demon of a drummer who was levitating through the power of rhythm. Shockingly brilliant. You get the feeling these guys are on the verge of something very big. With a new album to be released later this year they will definitely be in all good record shops.
