Celebcity: Oliver Heath opens HomeSense & The Young Apprentice’s Lucy Beauvallet
Oliver Heath opens HomeSense, House of Holland’s USP, plus The Young Apprentice’s Lucy Beauvallet
Interiors Designed
Homeware-for-less store, HomeSense opened its new store at The Quadrant, Brighton, on Thursday 25 July, with celeb eco architectural designer Oliver Heath cutting the ribbon on launch day. A huge crowd gathered to be the first to see inside the new store and were treated to a £10 gift card to spend.
HomeSense stocks 10,000 sq. metres of high quality and branded homeware with up to 60 per cent off the normal retail price – so you can create a celeb style home at a fraction of the cost.
The new store holds up to 50,000 different items for the home from functional kitchenware and one-off decorative pieces, to dining ware, soft furnishings and garden accessories. We’ll see you there!
Van of Holland
So fashion brand House of Holland, headed by the fabulous Henry Holland himself, have transformed an ice-cream van into a ‘Mr Quiffy’ selling its fashion wares on wheels around the UK. The van began its fashion life being bought off Gumtree, and was then transformed – via being clamped – in Brighton, home of summer and ice cream (so say us…).
Starting last Thursday, Holland plans to bring the unique pop-up retail space to the hot-spots of London, before hoping to hit the road as the tastiest looking vehicle on the M5. If Holland gets his way, he’ll then be taking the van back to its birth town to sell his ‘ice-cream inspired’ summer range to trendy Brightonians. The range includes a pair of printed shorts, a polka-dot- print jersey dress and iPhone covers, snapback caps and the label’s trademark slogan T-shirts – take your pick from viewing stickers in the van window and then check them out in the mirrored back-doors.
And, if it does make its way down here, Mr Quiffy will be a good place to get your hands on a bargain; talking about the venture Holland explained: “It’s a lower price point than usual… after all, we’re asking people to buy from the back of a van.” Quite!
The Young Apprentice
We’ve nabbed ourselves a celebrity intern this month – with The Young Apprentice’s Lucy Beauvallet helping us out over at JBPR headquarters! The Paris born Brightonian became a household name last year after competing in BBC’s hit show, eventually making it as a runner-up in Sir Alan’s boardroom. After telling the BBC: “There’s a fine line between staying in control and being bossy. Sometimes I fall under the bossy category,” – we only hope we can cut the mustard. Welcome aboard, Lucy!
Intimate Gathering
Our celeb spotting was put on hold last week as we headed to the Big Smoke for the biggest party of the week for… National Orgasm Day (yes, there really is such a thing). Intimate lifestyle brand LELO teamed up with the SH! Store in London to put on the party last Wednesday. Guests were treated to prosecco, strawberries and were invited to attend a masterclass showcasing LELO’s amazing array of toys. Most of the attendees were women but there were a few surprise male visitors. The celebs, however, kept a low profile on this one.
