Event: Glynde Fete

With the summer blossoming onwards, up pops the 145th Glynde Flower Show and Fete

This August marks a special celebration for the East Sussex Downlands village of Glynde. 2013 is the year of the 145th annual Glynde and Beddingham Flower Show and Fete, a traditional and historic event providing fun and entertainment for all the family. The beautiful surroundings make this village fete the perfect place to be on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Adults may find the locally created floral and produce displays a wonder to look at, all lovingly put together by people in the area.

Guests will also be able to bid to take some of the charming displays home during the annual auction. On top of the horticultural sights this show offers, families will be able to spend time splashing around in the Glynde Community Pool, perfect for cooling off during a hot day. Children can get involved in face painting, colouring competitions, raffles and many other traditional games if the sight of a stunning floral creation is lost on the little ones.

Furthermore, you will be able to peruse various bric-a-brac stalls while also seeing what the artistic local businesses have on offer, including wood carving, glass jewellery and holistic aromatherapy. In keeping with the flower theme, you can also buy flower arrangement class vouchers, display and wedding flower accessories from the famous Glynde Flower Shop. If that hasnt whet your appetite for a glorious weekend outing, the prospect of a juicy free range hog roast and BBQ should along with vegetarian delights from Pleasant Bakery in Lewes.
