Robbers threaten Brighton woman with a brick during raid at her home
Two men tried to rob a Brighton woman in her home as she was cooking.
The men knocked at her door in Barcombe Road, Moulsecoomb, at about 6pm on Wednesday (7 August).
Sussex Police said: “The victim was cooking when she heard a knock on the front door. She answered it and found two men in her porch.
“They pushed her back into the house. One of the men went upstairs while the other kept the victim in the living room threatening her with a brick.
“The victim managed to run into the garden to shout for help and, alerted to this, her neighbours called the police.”
Detective Constable Chris Bishop said: “The men are described as both white and in their twenties, both wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans. One had his face covered with a towel.
“The men didn’t take anything but this was obviously a very distressing incident for the victim.
“We want to talk to anyone who saw two men who may have been acting suspiciously in the area.
“Barcombe Road runs parallel with the busy Lewes Road and this was a busy time of the afternoon.
“Were you driving along there and did you see anyone in the area at the time who might have been acting oddly?”
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
