Escaped murderer suspected of three burglaries in Brighton and Hove
A convicted murderer who absconded from Ford Open Prison is believed to be responsible for at least three burglaries in Brighton and Hove.
Paul Flint, 48, was jailed in 1990 for killing a man during a burglary in London in 1989.
Sussex Police said: “Paul Flint walked out of the prison on (Monday) 1 July and has not yet been arrested.”
Last year Flint failed to return to Hollesley Bay Prison in Suffolk after being released temporarily. He was arrested in Bristol five days later by police using a taser.
Sussex Police said: “It is believed that he could have committed at least three burglaries since he disappeared and officers are keen to speak to him about those crimes.”
The first break-in happened on Monday 8 July at 11am at a home in Granville Road, Hove.
The second happened on Monday 15 July between 8am and 10.30am in Cross Street, Hove.
And the third was on Monday 5 August between 10.10am and 11.10am in Dean Street, Brighton.
More than £2,500 cash was taken along with a black wallet and a black Sony Vaio laptop with the model number VPCEH1L8E/B.
Flint was described as black, 5ft 11in tall and stocky. He has black greying hair, wears glasses and has an English accent.
Detective Inspector Dave Richards, of Sussex Police, said: “We think Flint is likely to commit more crime unless he is arrested so I would urge anyone that sees him to contact us immediately.
“Dial 999 but do not approach him.”
